Today, head of the International Turkic Academy Darkhan Kydyrali sent a telegram of condolences to the family and relatives of the deceased President of the International Society “Kazakh Language” Omirzak Aitbaiuly.
“On behalf of the staff of the International Turkic Academy and on my own, I express my deepest condolences and sympathy to the family and relatives of the outstanding scientist, academician Omirzak Aitbaiuly.
President of the International Society “Kazakh Language” Omirzak Aitbaiuly devoted his life to the honor of his native language. He conducted fundamental research in the field of Kazakh language terminology, linguistic culture and translation. Thus, he was the first in the history of Kazakh linguistics to write a comprehensive work on the development and formation of Kazakh terminology. In addition, under the leadership of Prof. Omirzak, the largest card fund in the field was created. It was the first card fund in the Turkic world.
In addition, Prof. Omirzak was one of the strongest figures in fighting for the language status since 1988. Along with the famous academician A.Kaidar, he participated in gaining the state status by Kazakh language. Later, as the head of the “Kazakh language” International Society he was actively involved in the development of bills and government programs to expand the scope of our native language.
Thus, academician Omirzak Aitbaiuly made an invaluable contribution to the development of Kazakh linguistics and to the enhancement of the status of our native language. I hope that scientific works of the scholar will remain his bright heritage and will serve the nation’s prosperity.
And a bright memory of the great scientist will forever remain in our history!”- the telegram states.
