The meeting “Strong fraternal ties: from Manas to Abai” was held

Today, on September 23, the International Turkic Academy and the Assembly of Peoples of Kazakhstan organized a meeting entitled “Strong fraternal ties: from Manas to Abay”.

President of the International Turkic Academy Darkhan Kydyrali, Deputy Chairman of the Assembly of Peoples of Kazakhstan – Head of the Secretariat of the Presidential Administration Zhanseit Tuimebayev, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Kazakhstan Jeenbek Kulubayev, Head of the APK parliamentary group, deputy of Majilis Sautbek Abdrakhmanov, as well as statesmen and public figures, scientists, intellectuals and representatives of ethnocultural associations took part in the meeting.

During the event, the Kazakh version of the “Manas” epos prepared by the International Turkic Academy and the academic edition of the works of Abay Kunanbaiuly in Kyrgyz language were presented.
In addition, the International Turkic Academy awarded a Letter of appreciation to famous manaschy, poet Bayangali Alimzhanov for his contribution to the collection and study of the literary heritage of the Turkic world.

It should be noted that this year in Baku the Scientific Council of the Turkic Academy approved the celebration of the 1125th anniversary of the Manas Epos and the 175th anniversary of Abay Kunanbaiuly among the significant dates of the Turkic world in 2020. Events dedicated to the Manas epos will continue until the end of the year.
