The Academy has started 3rd International Expedition
Today, the 3rd International Expedition "From Kentay to Ulytau: Modernization of the Historical Memory", organized by the International Turkic Academy (TWESCO), has started its work.
A group of researchers and journalists led by the head of the Academy Darkhan Kydyrali went to Mongolia's capital, Ulaanbaatar.
The main purpose of this International expedition is to revive the sacred sites and historical consciousness, which was specially emphasized in the article of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev on "Course towards the Future: spiritual revival". The route of the expedition will begin from the birthplace of Genghis Khan named Burhan Khaldun, which is located in the Kentay region in Mongolia, and will continue until Mausoleum of Alasha khan, Zhoshi Khan in Ulytau.
Expedition members are planning to hold a number of meetings in the capital of Mongolia before they start a journey to Kentay.
It should be noted that the expedition is organized within the Memorandum of Cooperation adopted between the TWESCO and the National Museum of Mongolia in August 2016. This document will enable the Academy to conduct an archaeological expedition and joint excavations in the ancient Turkic complexes found in eastern Mongolia, the place of Kentay.
