The Academy continues archeological fieldworks in Mongolia

The International Turkic Academy (TWESCO) jointly with the Institute of History and Archeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Mongolia continues now to carry out archeological excavations in the ancient memorial complex of Shiveet Ulan in Mongolia.

Archeological fieldworks at the Shiveet Ulan complex were started by the Academy in summer of last year. We already have informed that during the 2-month excavations, the structure, shape and volume of the complex were identified, and several Turkic sculptures were found. In August 2016, based on the results of the research, the international expedition "From the Khan-Tengri to Otukan: Historical and Cultural Legascies of the Great Steppe Nomads " was organized with the participation of scientists from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Russia and Turkey.

This year, until the end of July, a group of researchers including scholars of the Academy N.Bazilkhan and N.Bogenbay, as well as Mongolian historian-archaeologists A.Enhtur and S. Dalantai will carry out archeological fieldworks with a view of comprehensive scientific research.
