Today is Independence Day of Kyrgyzstan!
August 31 is Independence Day of the Kyrgyz Republic! On August 31, 1991, the Supreme Soviet of Kyrgyzstan adopted the Declaration of State Independence. Thus, the Kyrgyz Republic gained independence.
Today Kyrgyzstan celebrates its 27th anniversary of Independence. There are solemn events and concert programs organized in Bishkek, the capital of the country and regions. Events in Bishkek began on the Ala-Too Square with the Kyrgyz National Anthem. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov and other officials took part in the solemn event. Bishkek festive events are held in four districts of the city. There were fireworks at the end of the evening.
Recall that on August 31, 1991, Kyrgyzstan withdrew from the USSR and became an independent state. The total area of the country is 199,971 square kilometers, the population of which is 6 million 140 thousand 200 people as of January 2017. Bishkek is the capital of the country. State language is Kyrgyz. Russian is the language of official affairs. Kyrgyzstan is a member of the Turkic Council and one of the four Turkic-speaking states that established TWESCO.
