The cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2018 became known
The cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2018 became the Kastamonu city, Turkey. This was announced today at the 35th session of the Permanent Council of TURKSOY in Turkestan, the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2017.
Secretary General of TURKSOY Duisen Kaseinov, Akim of South Kazakhstan region Zhanseit Tuimebayev, Minister of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan Arystanbek Mukhamediuly, Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey Numan Kurtulmush, Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism of Kyrgyzstan Sultanbek Zhumagulov and representatives of international organizations such as the Turkic Council, TurkPA, as well as Miras Turkic Cultural Fund participated in the event.
On behalf of the International Turkic Academy (TWESCO), the meeting was attended by the academy’s scientific expert Akeldil Toishanuly. He read out a special greetings letter from Darkhan Kydyrali, the Head of the Academy.
At the meeting, Ministers of Culture of the Turkic countries expressed their opinion on the cultural events held in the historical city, and stressed the need to focus on the greater number of good deeds for strengthening the cultural and spiritual ties of peoples with one history.
During the annual traditional session the report of TURKSOY for last year was listened, and measures on strengthening cultural and spiritual ties between the Turkic peoples were discussed. At the same time, the organization’s plan for coming year was approved.
As a result of the meeting, the participants adopted and signed a declaration and working protocol of the 35th plenary session of TURKSOY Permanent Council.
