The Congress of the Turkic-speaking states started in Ankara


Today, the Congress of Turkic-speaking states has started its work in the capital of Turkey, Ankara.

The large-scale event jointly organized by Ataturk High Council of Culture, Language and History, the Turkish Language Society and the New Turkey Center for Strategic Studies is also supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey.

Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey Fikri Işık, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey Huseyin Yayman, president of Atatürk High Council of Culture, Language and History Derya Ors, Head of the Turkish Language Society Mustafa Kacalin and the Head of the New Turkey Center for Strategic Studies Hasan Celal Guzel spoke at the opening ceremony of the event and wished success to the participants.

The scientific expert of the International Turkic Academy (TWESCO) Ainur Mayemerova delivered special congratulations of the Academy’s president Darkhan Kydyrali to organizers and participants of the congress.

More than 300 delegates from Azerbaijan, Germany, Japan, Iran, Iraq, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Russian Federation, Ukraine and other countries are taking part in the event dedicated to the Year of Turkish language in Turkey in 2017.

Public figures, scholars and researchers will make reports on the issues of determining the place of Turkish language among the world languages in the context of the integration of the Turkic world, the alphabets of Turkic languages, vocabulary fund, common terminology, mutual translation.

The work of the Congress covering various cultural programs along with the main scientific part will be summarized on November 16.
