The best mathematicians of the Turkic world gathered in Astana


The 6th Congress of the Turkic world mathematical society was held in Astana.

More than 500 people, including about 100 prominent scientists from 20 countries, attended the event. The congress sections covered all major areas of mathematics. Within four days, scientists discussed topical issues such as algebra and mathematical logic, geometry and topology, theory of function, differential equations and mathematical physics, history and methodology of mathematics teaching of Turkic peoples.

Also a meeting of the Mathematical Society of the Turkic-speaking countries was held during the Congress. A new composition of the society was elected there. The participants unanimously elected Academician Bakhytzhan Zhumagulov as President of the Mathematical Council of Turkic-Speaking Countries for the next term and determined the venue of the next Congress. It was decided that the 7th Congress of the Turkic world mathematical society will be held in Uzbekistan. Following the results of the Congress, leading scientists and young mathematicians who made a significant contribution to the development of mathematical sciences were awarded diplomas.

It should be noted that Congresses of the Turkic world mathematical society are held once in three years. The first Congress was held in Turkey in 1999.
