Modernization of national identity in the Turkic World: Atalar mirasi
Today, the International Turkic Academy (TWESCO) held a presentation of the Atalar mirasi Media Fund in the National Academic Library in Astana.
Head of the TWESCO Darkhan Kydyrali hosted the meeting, which was attended by National academies of science of Kazakhstan and foreign countries, heads of fundamental research institutes and diplomatic missions, famous statesmen and public figures and Turkologists.
On September 11, 2015, at the 5th summit of the Turkic Council in Astana, the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev instructed to develop a joint project with the aim to collect and propagate the spiritual heritage of all Turkic peoples. "Atalar mirasi" (atalarmirasi.org) is a fundamental project implemented for this mission.
The Media fund prepared by the TWESCO collects information on spiritual heritage of the Turkic-speaking peoples, ethnicities and ethnic groups from ancient to present times. They include general information, scientific research, original transcription, translation and photography, facsimile.
The portal is conducted in English, Kazakh, Russian and Turkish languages. According to the data subject, it is divided into 9 main sections: the History of writing of Turkic people; Old writing heritage; Old Turkic inscriptions and manuscripts; Folk tales; Literary samples of common scripts; Prominent figures of National literature; Archaeological heritage; Ethnographic objects and Newspapers and Journals.
The Academy will constantly update the portal with scientific and cognitive information.
It should be noted that the presentation of the portal, which was positively assessed by the participants, was timed to the Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It was held within the framework of the conference on "Modernization of National identity in the Turkic World: History. Cognition. Personality". At the same time, within the event the "Turkic Barometer" project and its first research results were presented to the public.
