President of Kazakhstan met with the US President
President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev met with the US President Donald Trump within his official visit to the United States, press service of Akorda reports.
At the end of the meeting, Nursultan Nazarbayev signed the White House Book of Honorable Guests.
Presidents of Kazakhstan and the United States held talks and discussed topical issues of bilateral relations and international agenda.
Donald Trump thanked Nursultan Nazarbayev for his official visit and highly appreciated relations between Kazakhstan and the United States.
- I'm pleased to welcome President Nazarbayev who has done a tremendous job in Kazakhstan. And having you at the White House is an honor.. For more than a quarter century, the United States has seen the strong, sovereign, and independent nation of Kazakhstan as a valued friend and a strategic partner in Central Asia, the US President said.
Nursultan Nazarbayev thanked D.Trump for his invitation to pay an official visit and congratulated him on the first anniversary of his election as the President of the United States.
- Mr. President, I congratulate you with a great economic success that your country is witnessing during your office and my congratulations on your first anniversary in the office of the President. Our country appreciates the political support of the United States for the independence and territorial integrity of Kazakhstan. For 26 years, Kazakhstan has maintained friendly relations with the United States. Today's visit is a confirmation of that partnership, the Head of State said.
At the end of the meeting Nursultan Nazarbayev expressed hope for further deepening of bilateral political and economic cooperation.
In addition, Nursultan Nazarbayev met with the US Secretary of Energy Rick Perry and the President of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), the government’s finance institution, Ray Washburne. Moreover, the Kazakh leader held a meeting with representatives of business circles of the United States in Washington, D.C.
