TWESCO received the Hungarian flag


The International Turkic Academy (TWESCO) organized a reception on the occasion of Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In addition, during the event a ceremony of handing over the Hungarian flag to the Academy was held to mark obtaining of an observer status in the International Turkic Academy.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Yerzhan Ashykbayev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan Rashad Mammadov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Kazakhstan Andras Barani, Mongolian Ambassador Luvsan Battulga, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Kazakhstan Nevzat Uyanik, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan Saidikram Niyazhodzhaev, Turkmenistan Military Attaché Anymurad Yagmyrov, scholars and Turkologists, media representatives took part in the event.

Speaking at the solemn event, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Yerzhan Ashykbayev said: “The International Turkic Academy was established eight years ago at the initiative of the Head of State. Today, this organization is internationally recognized as a scientific and intellectual center because of its outstanding achievements in the field of studying the history and culture of Turkic peoples. The Academy has become a unique center of studying the history, language and literature, culture of the Turkic world from ancient to modern times, determining the place of Turkic states and their special contribution to the world civilization based on authentic data. It should be noted that the work of the Academy not only reaffirms its value but also contributes to the integration and interaction of Turkic countries”. In his speech, the Vice Minister highly appreciated the Academy's "Common Turkic History", "Common Turkic Geography" textbooks, and development of textbooks on "Common Turkic Literature", the Turk barometer sociological research and the "Atalar mirasi" multimedia fund. He also emphasized that the Turkic Academy has developed the concept of Turkic integration, and congratulated Hungary on obtaining an observer status in the Turkic Council and the Turkic Academy and wished further strengthening of mutual cooperation.

President of the Academy Darkhan Kydyrali has stressed that TWESCO traditionally celebrates National Days of founding states of the organization, and that today's event is dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In his speech, the head of TWESCO noted that the international organizations initiated by Kazakhstan, as well as our achievements in foreign policy and in the Turkic integration are the result of independence. The head of the Academy also said that receiving the observer status by Hungary was an indication of organization’s international recognition. “Hungary was granted an observer status to the Academy at the summit of the Turkic Council in Cholpon-Ata. Today we have raised the flag of Hungary in the Academy,” he said. In turn, the Ambassador of Hungary András Bárani said: “It's a great honor for me. I want to say that relations between Hungary and Kazakhstan are developing due to the location of the headquarters of the International Turkic Academy in Astana. Common historical roots of fraternal peoples also influence dynamic development of relations between Hungary and Kazakhstan. For this reason, we hand over the national flag of Hungary to the headquarters of the Turkic Academy.”

During the meeting, the International Turkic Academy awarded a special Letter of Appreciation to mass media representatives who contributed to the Turkic integration and cooperation in the information sphere of fraternal countries.
