Head of the TWESCO met with TURKPA Secretary General
President of the International Turkic Academy (TWESCO) Darkhan Kydyrali met with Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking countries (TurkPA) Altynbek Mamaiusupov. During the meeting, the sides discussed a wide range of issues, such as cooperation between the two organizations, aimed at deepening Turkic integration, legislative support of various initiatives between Turkic-speaking states.
The head of the Academy congratulated TURKPA on the 10th anniversary of its establishment. He also said that next year is the anniversary of the Nakhchivan Summit where the Turkic Council was established. The head of TWESCO also noted that the leading organizations of Turkic integration were created at the initiative of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. He also noted that TURKPA's reputation raised on the international arena, and that the Hungarian National Assembly received the observer status in the organization. This country was granted the observer status at TWESCO at the 6th Summit of the Turkic Council in Cholpon-Ata this year.
In turn, the Secretary-General noted that TURKPA is considered a dialogue platform of the Turkic world. He also praised TWESCO's work. He emphasized that the events organized by the Academy and its projects were of particular importance for the Turkic integration. In particular, the Secretary General said that TWESCO's international scientific and practical conference in Turkestan scheduled for November 18-19 would be symbolic for Turkic peoples. He also noted that the establishment of Turkestan region was a unique event for the Turkic world.
During the meeting, the sides also discussed the implementation of tasks set by the Heads of State at the 6th summit of the Turkic Council. In particular, they exchanged views on the projects proposed by the President of Kazakhstan on "Sacral places of the Turkic world" and "Outstanding figures". The head of TWESCO noted that the organization developed a Convention on the Protection and Use of the Cultural Heritage of the Turkic World and stressed the need for such documents. The issue of protection and rational use of historical and cultural monuments, sacral and ritual places of the Turkic world is urgent today. Therefore, it is important to adopt legal-normative documents in this direction by the member states of the Turkic Council. In this regard, the TWESCO head said that the parliamentarians were also expected to work in this way.
