TWESCO Has Organized Calligraphy Exhibition within the framework of OIC Summit in Astana
Today the International Turkic Academy and the Research Center for Islamic History, Art and Culture (IRCICA) have organized an international calligraphy exhibition within the framework of the First OIC Summit on Science and Technology.
The exhibition taking place in the Independence Palace of Astana on September 10-11, 2017 will showcase calligraphy artworks received awards in international competitions organized by IRCICA in the period of 1986-2016. Art pieces representing classical Islamic calligraphy styles such as Thuluth, Naskh, Kufic, Diwani and Nasta’liq from all over the world will be presented.
It was President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev who initiated to hold the First OIC Summit on Science and Technology in his speech delivered to participants of the 13th OIC Summit that took place in Stambul in 2016.
Delegates representing all OIC member states, in particular, 35 heads of states and governments, and representatives of observer-nations to the OIC along with delegates from international organizations are participating in the summit aimed to come up with a common strategy dealing with modern challenges through technologies and education in the Islamic world.
