Turkology and Altaic studies issues were discussed in Astana


Today, in Astana International Turkic Academy (TWESCO) held a round table on “Issues of Turkology and Altaic studies today”.

Leaders and representatives of international organizations, diplomats, as well as eminent scientists from near and far abroad countries took part in the meeting organized on the occasion of 5th anniversary of Academy's international status. In particular, advisers of the President of the Republic of Turkey Sener Ihsan and Sertcelik Seyit, president of the Turkish Historical Society Mr. Turan Refik, Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council Omer Kocaman, a member of the Council of Elders of the Turkic Council Adil Akhmetov, the first vice-president of the Academy of Sciences of Mongolia Gelegpil Chuluunbaatar and other public figures and prominent scientists attended the event.


Participants of the meeting moderated by the head of the Academy Darkhan Kydyrali shared reasonable views on the current trends and new directions of development of Turkic and Altaic studies. 


It should be noted that the round table is one of the events organized at the initiative of the Academy within the framework of the 2nd Forum of Social Sciences "The Great Steppe" that will be held in Astana tomorrow. Senior officials, diplomats, prominent scientists and researchers from Kazakhstan and more than twenty countries around the world will participate in the Forum.
