The first Turkology Museum was opened in Astana


Today, timed to the Day of Turkic writing, International Turkic Academy (TWESCO) held an opening ceremony of the Turkology Museum in Astana.

Personal things, never published before diaries and manuscripts of famous turkologists Abduali Kaidar, Abzhan Kuryshzhanov, Amir Nazhip, Rabiga Syzdykova and Osman Fikri Sertkaya were exposed at the event organized in the Turkology for the first time.


In particular, a coat (chapan), radio and pencils of the academician A.Kaidar, diaries and letters to friends of a professor A.Kuryshzhanov, as well as personal brown dombyra of the academician R.Syzdykova can be found in the museum. Also, valuable manuscripts and note books of professors A.Nazhip and Osman Fikri Sertkaya are exhibited there.

Scientists, intellectuals and representatives of media from Azerbaijan, Russia, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Mongolia attended the solemn event.

It should be noted that the event was organized within the framework of the 2nd Forum of Social Sciences "The Great Steppe" which will be held in Astana tomorrow, on 26th of May. About 300 scientists from America and Asia are expected to attend the Forum.
