A meeting dedicated to the heritage of Korkyt Ata started in Kazakhstan


Today, an International scientific-theoretical conference on "The Heritage of Korkyt Ata: epic culture, folk tales and melodies" was held in Kyzylorda.

The scientific event, hosted by the head of the International Turkic Academy (TWESCO) Darkhan Kydyrali, was organized within the framework of the international festival of folklore and musical art "Korkyt and the Great Steppe Music".

The Art Festival resulted from the program of President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev on "Spiritual Modernization" and aimed at the implementation of the project on "Modern Culture of Kazakhstan in the World", as well as the promotion of national musical art of the Turkic-speaking countries and strengthening of cultural ties, was held with the support of Kyzylorda region Akimat and the TURKSOY.

Famous art critics and folklorists from USA, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Uzbekistan, Russia (Bashkortostan, Tatarstan) and Turkey took part in the conference.

Reports on the study of experiences in the strengthening of mutual relations and cooperation of the Turkic-speaking countries, in particular, in the development and preservation of national art were made at the international conference, which was opened with the welcoming speech of the Akim of Kyzylorda region Kyrymbek Kusherbayev.

“Korkyt and the Great Steppe Music” Art Festival that includes a variety of cultural events along with the scientific meeting, will finish tomorrow with a festive gala concert.
