International Field Seminar Held in Mongolia


In Delgerkhaan, a district in Kentay Province of the East Mongolia, an International field workshop was held within the framework of the 3rd  International expedition "From Kentay to Ulutau: Modernization of the Historical Memory", which was organized by the International Turkic Academy (TWESCO) with the support of the National Museum of Mongolia.

President of the Academy Darkhan Kydyrali,  Director of the National Museum of Mongolia D. Sukhbaatar and prominent historians, archeologists, turkologists, and representatives of leading mass media of the two countries took part in the event.

Prior to attending the seminar, members of the International expedition visited the Burkhan Khaldun Mountain, Genghis Khan's birthplace. 

It is planned that the expedition group will conduct archeological excavations and explore ancient Turkic memorial complexes such as Hayaa Khudag and Gunburd.

The expedition organized for the third time in Mongolia is committed to reviving sacred places and historical conscience that underlined in President Nursultan Nazarbayev’s article "The Course towards Future: Modernization of Public Conscience".

It should be noted that the expedition route inscludes most important places for the ancient Turkic history in Mongolia and Kazakhstan. Thus, the expedition starts at the Burkhan Khaldun Mountain and ends at the Mausoleum of Alasha Khan and Joshy Khan in Ulutau.
