Tatarstan will host symposium on the art of woodcarving in the Turkic world
On December 19-20, 2017, the International Symposium on "The Art of Woodcarving in the Turkic World: History and Modernity" will be held at the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Organizers: the G. Ibragimov Institute of Language, Literature and Art of the Academy of Sciences of the RT, Tatarstan branch of the Association of Art Critics (TatAAC).
The symposium continues the cycle of events on "The Art of the Turkic World", conducted by the Department of Fine and Applied Arts of the G. Ibragimov Institute of Language, Literature and Art since 2008 with the aim to study, popularize and develop the material and spiritual culture of Turkic peoples.
The event is designed for 2 days:
Day 1: Scientific and Practical Conference on "The Art of Woodcarving in the Turkic World: History and Modernity".
Day 2: International exhibition on "Modern art of woodcarving" with the organization of master classes for artists and students. Within the framework of the symposium, the best souvenirs are determined. Winners are awarded with diplomas and valuable prizes.
The work of the symposium is aimed at such areas as traditions and innovation in the art of woodcarving, management, PR technologies and problems of exhibition activities, the analysis of museum collections, and the problems of ethnical tourism.
To participate in the symposium, it is necessary to submit an application and abstracts of reports in Russian and English by September 30, 2017. Reports are accepted until October 1, 2017.
